June 2024:

With that comes a Big Congratulations to Ronald "Ronnie” Fowle for being selected as All State Captain now he can be known as "Captain Ronnie”. As well congratulations to Frederick Bacorn Surgeon, and Ronald Fowle Chaplain. Who could forget the amazing voice of our very own Sr. Auxiliary President and National Soloist Willa Watts.

Looking into the upcoming months, our mission is not done, we still have lots of Community Service Events in the community we can become involved in. I was in the Post last night and the pleasant smell of burgers on grill was abound. So, that means Steak Night is just around the corner. I encourage everyone to volunteer some time in helping with these weekly events as though not the same ones are doing it weekly.

June brings back America’s Pastime in Fairbanks with the start of Flag Day and retiring Old Glory as well as the Gold Panners playing at Growden park starting with Military Appreciation Day on June 11 followed by one of the most amazing Sporting Events the Mid Night Sun Game on June 21st. I encourage everyone to go out with their family and enjoy these events. Let’s not forget the Mid Night Sun Festival downtown on June 22nd.

June brings about time for family, go out explore Alaska whether it be by camping, fishing or just enjoying a day at the Farmers Market. Family is important to our well-being.
We are a family "Captain Ronnie” demonstrated that the last few years, and it is always one team one fight as Slick reminds us. We take care of each other daily, but during these trying times less not forget our Deployed members, Veterans, children, our future leaders and post and auxiliary members. Let’s demonstrate to them how they can be productive members of society and our organization by leading by example.

I would like to CHALLENGE the POST and AUXILIARY to hold a special event this summer for our children, lets educated them in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America, what a Veteran means and encourage them to submit essays and artistic work for our Youth Scholarship Programs, while at the same time having a little fun and laughter.
I wish everyone a wonderful, fulfilling start to Summer, be safe!!!!!
