Fairbanks, AK (June 14, 2017) – Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Golden Heart Post 3629 Commander Bob Martin announced the selection of Emily Gage, a sophomore at Colony High School as a winner in the 2017 National Voice of Democracy Program and a recipient of the $1,000 Department of Mississippi VFW and Auxiliary Bernard McClelland Memorial Scholarship. Emily plans a career as a trauma surgeon and is sponsored by VFW Post 9365 and its Auxiliary in Wasilla.
Fairbanks, AK (June 14, 2017) – Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Golden Heart Post 3629 Commander Bob Martin announced the selection of Andrew Drake, an Alaskan eighth grade student at Chapman School as a winner in the 2017 National Patriot’s Pen Contest and a recipient of the $500 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Ohio Charities National Patriot’s Pen Award. Drake is sponsored by VFW Post 10221 and its Auxiliary in Anchor Point.
